Circle Time: The central aim of Circle Time is to build self-esteem of an individual and of a group. Our aim in having Circle Times is to help build friendship, create trust and promote responsibility. It is hoped that Circle Time can develop empathy and understanding leading to greater self-discipline and improved relationships. Circle times - sometimes known as quality circles - are a creative and democratic approach to consider a wide range of issues affecting a class or the school community. It involves all participants sitting in a circle and taking equal responsibility for solving problems and dealing with issues. The emphasis is on help - not blame. The responsibility for individuals is to solve problems - not just voice them. |
