Positive Behaviour Cycle: includes the following Discussion of circle time, GOLDEN RULES discussed and displayed on classroom walls, Incentives to support golden rules & Sanctions Our incentives and strategies include the following: Stars given for 'good' work. When ten stars are recorded a certificate of achievement is awarded at an appropriate assembly. Points system as noted below - Moving quietly in corridor 10 points awarded by promoted staff member/ class teacher Homework completed by all class members 10 points awarded by class teacher PE kit brought by all class members 10 points awarded by class/PE teacher Orderly line - outside 10 points awarded by teacher on duty/ promoted member of staff Points can be removed as well as accumulated, Points are collected at the end of each week and an announcement is made naming the classes of the week from P.1-3 and P.4-7. For the following week that class displays a certificate on the classroom door. Points are totalled at the end of each calendar month and the winning classes are given a treat - lemonade and crisps. 1. Recognise out of school achievements - tannoy announcements - Assemblies - Achievement Board Encourage older pupils to care for youngest pupils. Caring 'contract' discussed at length each year and signed by pupils. Postcards home acknowledging good/exceptional work, improvement in behaviour, kindness etc. All school staff participate in promoting a positive ethos Build relationship with local community at every possible opportunity. 2. Discuss and deal with problems at the earliest possible stage. Communicate Positive Behaviour Policy to parents. Consult with parents and representatives to raise expectations Any other rewards system that a class teacher feels is appropriate for a particular class after discussion with SMT. |
