Booth Lower School is housed in three buildings.  The oldest one was opened in 1960 as a primary school for the Boothville area.  In 1968 it was so full that a new building was added to serve as a Junior School with the original building becoming an Infant School.  In 1973 local reorganisation of schools to a system of Lower, Middle and Upper schools brought the Junior and Infant buildings together to form Booth Lower School.  In 1994 a new purpose built Nursery Building was added and two mobile classrooms were removed from our site.

The 1960 building presently houses our three reception classes, three Year One classes and one of the two halls we are fortunate to have.  The Nursery Unit has a new building with its own entrance off Booth Lane.  Within the main school there are presently 14 classes, and children are allocated to classes on basis of age.  The school buildings are set in approximately four acres of mature, attractive grounds.  Within the grounds there are two large playgrounds.  The playground for the children in Reception and Year One contains a wooden adventure play structure.  Incorporated within our large playing field is an established nature area which is used for delivering parts of the Science curriculum. Next to one of the school buildings there is an enclosure which contains an outdoor heated learner swimming pool, changing huts and picnic tables.  This area offers the children a safe and pleasant environment for swimming lessons which take place during the Summer term.
