
The
Senior School provides a secure and stable atmosphere in which the girls
are offered the full range of National Curriculum subjects. The
continuation of small classes with the average number in each form at 24
(one form entry) and a staff/pupil ratio of 1:10.5 helps to enhance the
personal development of each individual girl.
Areas of Study
Key Stage 3
In
years 7 - 9 girls study: Art, Drama, English, French, Geography,
History, Information Communication Technology, Mathematics, Music, P.E.,
Religious Studies, Science and Textiles.
Key Stage 4
In
years 10 - 11 all lessons are taught in half class groups.
Compulsory
GCSE subjects are: English, English Literature, French, Business and
Communication Systems, Mathematics, and Double Science.
GCSE
Option subjects are chosen from: Art, Child Development, Drama, Geography,
History and Religious Studies.
All the girls take part in P.E., P.S.H.E and Citizenship
lessons.
Pupils
take an average of eight subjects at GCSE and their success rate is always
above the quoted national average.
