Brearley Nursery School is situated in the Newtown area of Birmingham, approximately one mile from the city centre. This is a Local Education Authority school, built in 1939, staffed by qualified teachers, nursery nurses and support staff. We are a multi-cultural school, with 104 full time places.
The school stands in its own grounds and has a large outside play area with grass and hard surfaces. It has four large, well resourced classrooms and a soft play area. There is also a Parents/Community room which is used for many activities including "Stay and Play", Toy and Book Library, "Baby Club", courses for parents and carers, community meetings as well as by staff and children for a variety of activities.
Parents are encouraged to put their childs name on the waiting list as soon as possible after their second birthday. Children are admitted at the beginning of the academic year after their third birthday - if a place is available.
We aim to provide a warm, welcoming, emotionally secure environment, which caters for the educational needs of each child.
The school recognises and values what each child brings to the Nursery, acknowledging that education starts at birth and parents are the childs first educators.
We encourage children to be kind to one another and show a caring, sharing attitude. We value all children equally.
We also encourage independence, support children in making informed choices and plan to give as wide a range of educational play activities as possible.
.......AND WE HAVE FUN!!
