The Bridgwater Youth Work Team has four main strands:

• Work in buildings- Centre-based youth work


• Work on the streets, in parks etc.- Detached youth work


• Project-based youth work


• Work with partners in voluntary youth clubs eg YMCA

Centre-based youth work takes place on the town's Hamp and Sydenham estates and is the type of youth club that many people people will know.

HAMP Youth club is in the middle of the Hamp estate, on Rhode Lane. The building used to be an infants school, then a family centre, becoming a youth club in 1993, when we rented the building from Sedgemoor District Council.

SydenhamYoung People's Centre will open at the end of November this year, it is in a brand new building designed for the purpose, and built as a partnership between Somerset County Council and Sydenham SRB
