CAIRNORRIE PRIMARY SCHOOL
Cairnorrie is a hamlet situated 24 miles north-west of Aberdeen, on the very edge of the Buchan plain. It has a wide catchment area extending over a rural area although most of the children are not from farming backgrounds but from individual houses or small settlements.
The area has a long tradition of focusing its activities upon the school and a considerable loyalty to the school tradition. The school is used extensively by a flourishing bowling club, an active WRI and by a recently formed but vigorous Community Association

The catchment is currently anticipating new housing development on a small but significant scale. Many houses are now occupied by families with pre-school children who attend Cairnorrie Under Fives group which meets weekly in the school.
The primary school is non-denominational. Our current pupil roll is 19.
