Recap Health and Safety
guidelines for IT room.
Pupils to 'log on' and find

click on 'Lesson Ideas', click on 'Anachronism Lesson'.
Remind pupils to read
instructions carefully and to ask for help if they do not
understand.
When ready, click on 'Begin

Pupils to read
explanation page. This could be done as a class activity with
pupils suggesting further anachronisms possibly for the time
period that they are studying. |

Pupils to complete picture
jigsaw and to try to spot the anachronisms in the
picture. |
| 5 minutes |
Pupils move on to 'Spot the
Anachronism'. There are points ten hidden anachronisms in the
picture. Pupils click around the picture and are told if they
are right or wrong.
The anachronisms are - TV aerial, clock, tractor, zebra
crossing, flask, bicycle, crash helmet, glasses, personal
cassette player, headphones. |

To check understanding, pupils
now have to complete a sentence taken from the explanation
page. The missing words are dragged and dropped into place
using the mouse. |

Pupils to write their own
'Anachronism Story' in the form provided. As an incentive to
pupils I am offering to publish a selection of stories
received on this site.
Pupils can see some of the stories published on the
next page. This may also be helpful for lower ability pupils
to give them some ideas about what to write.
If you wish to print the stories - place the mouse curser
next to the first letter, hold the left mouse button down and
drag to the bottom right corner of the story. Click copy on
the browser bar. Open Word and click paste. The story can now
be printed. |

This can be used to go over
answers as a whole class.
Pupils could be allowed to play some of the history games
on this site.
Further historical research could be done using the pages
on this site or from the A-Z of History. |
