Carden School is involved in a European Comenius project with three other schools - Redcraigs School, Aberdeen, Lundsvagen Naturskole in Stavanger, Norway and Antonia Alzina School in Majorca. Together we are working on a beach monitoring programme.

What the project involves

Each school has a designated section of beach within easy travelling distance to the school. Our section of beach is at Stonehaven. When we visit the beach we will be looking for plant and animal life, signs of pollution and tidal patterns. All the information we gather will be put on our Beach- watch Web site.

We will then be able to compare the results from the other schools with our own. Shortly, we will post some pictures of us monitoring the beach.

At school we made a culture box for Antonia Alzina school. It contained material about our culture, places to visit, food and various items made in school. (Click on the box to see the list of contents)
