Jesus with Mary

One day Jesus rode into Jerusalem riding on a donkey and telling everyone that he as the king. This upset many people and led to his crucifixion. Jesus was betrayed by one of his disciples. He was tried and found guilty and so crucified - that is hanged on a cross until he was dead in the custom of the Romans,

Jesus' Ascension
  • When Jesus was about 30 years old he started to travel the country
  • He was telling people about God
  • He was healing sick people.
  • He chose twelve men to help him -the disciples
  • They became his friends and helpers
  • After he had died they told everyone else about him and his teaching.

Jesus' teaching often upset the Romans who were in charge of the country at the time. They thought he was a trouble maker.

The Crcufixion

After his crucifixion though

  • Jesus rose from the dead
  • He appeared to his disciples telling them not to be afraid and to tell others about him.

This all happened at Easter. On Good Friday - the Friday before Easter Sunday Christians remember the day Jesus was crucified and three days later on Easter Sunday we celebrate the fact that he rose from the dead.

He is the way of Salvation when we die.
His death was so that those who believe in him will have their sin forgiven.

He is the sacrifice that paid for sin and return us to God.
No other sacrifice is sufficient to cleanse us of our sin.
