Ashgrove Nursery School was purpose built and opened in 1980 to serve the needs of pre-school children in Newtownabbey, a large borough in County Antrim and only five miles from Belfast City Centre. It is situated in two acres of landscaped gardens and has excellent facilities. The school serves the local
community and incorporates a policy of integration and equal opportunity.
The school is open daily during the academic year and caters for 104
children who attend on a part-time basis. Most children transfer to
one of the local ‘feeder’ Primary Schools at the end of the year.
The Nursery is very pro-active in its work with parents. Staff meet regularly with parents to inform them of their children’s progress and also facilitate a ‘drop in centre’ where parents can come and counsel each other over coffee. There is also an effective programme of evening meetings which focus on parenting techniques and social development. Further details and copies of our school hand book are available from the Nursery or by phoning 028 90843178.
