Internet Elders 'surf' the Atlantic
Internet friends from the USA were welcome guests at the first birthday party for the Leamington Elders on Saturday. The ELDERS are a group of retired pensioners that communicate with similar groups world wide via the Internet computer system, publicising Leamington Spa in the process.
They are in constant contact with elders from as far away as New Zealand and Nicaragua, but it was their counterparts from Cape Cod, Massachusetts, who travelled to Leamington to join in the celebrations.
