† If you check our Year 11 examination statistics against those published officially by the LEA and by the Department for Education, you will find that they do not tally. The official figures are based, not on Year 11 numbers, but on the number of 15 year olds in the school. As it happens we have more than our fair share of 15 year olds who took their GCSEs a year early in another school so their results do not show up in the official statistics. Hence our 'official' results look marginally worse than our real Year 11 ones.
