Reading Circle
The Newcastle Group has set up a reading circle which meets in Joseph Cowen House, Newcastle University, on the first Thursday of each month at 5.00 pm.
The book we are currently reading is Albert Camus’s The Plague.
Everyone is welcome. If you are unable to attend the monthly meetings, it is still possible to take part in the group, as a distance reader, through email.
If you would like to contribute your thoughts to our discussions, please contact Michael Bavidge at m.c.bavidge@ncl.ac.uk
Day Conference
A day workshop was held in early September in the Northumberland coastal village of Alnmouth. Under the title, Knowledge and Acknowledgement, we discussed the ways our knowledge of the world is dependent on our knowledge of each other. It was a day of lively philosophical debate in a beautiful place.
A similar event is planned for next autumn. If you would like to be kept informed as the arrangements for workshop are finalised, please contact Michael Bavidge at the email address above.
