Science

Information for Year 6 pupils

The Science at Castle Rock will build on the work you have completed over the last few years. Most of our work is learnt from practical experiments. We will cover National Curriculum up to Level 7 and in some cases Level 8. You will learn many new things about how the world around you works from the force involved in launching a rocket to the cells inside a plant.

We have a brand new 21st Century Science Lab
in which you can complete all this exciting work.

"Science is fun because you do lots of practical work."     Carl Battams 7T

"I like Science because you can do experiments and draw diagrams." Daniel Pickering 7K

Which Scientist links these items with the discovery of Gravity?

Information for Parents

Science is firmly based on learning by practical experimentation. Specialist teachers will exchange and stimulate pupils interest in Science via a number of short courses. One of these courses in Year 7 deals with the biology of sexual reproduction. The deeper question of relationships between the sexes, based firmly in the context of Christian family life is tackled during tutorials.
