Information for Parents

ICT is taught to all pupils, with key skills being taught by the ICT Co-ordinator in Technology, Applied Studies, Modular lessons and, an Introductory Skills Course (Year 7 pupils). Further ICT skills are developed in all National Curriculum subjects where applicable, using the facilities of our three computer networks and individual multimedia, laptop and stand-a-lone computers and peripherals (Scanners, Vinyl Cutter, Digital cameras, Printers and Plotters). Pupils have access to CD ROM, INTERNET and Email facilities to help them with classwork and homework tasks. Computer control and Sensing topics are taught in Technology, Mathematics and Science.

A computerised Individualised Learning Scheme, (RM Successmaker), is also used to develop pupils Literacy and Numeracy skills. This system is one of the teaching methods employed in our "Summer School" programme for Year 6 pupils.

Pupils are able to supplement and extend their ICT skills through extra curricular activities which include: Computer Club, The school Newsletter/Magazine, Science Sensing/INTERNET Globe Project, and the computerised Weather Station club.
