COURSE OUTLINE

Modern languages offered include French, German and Spanish.

Pupils will build on their knowledge and skills in -

Communicating
Language skills
Language learning skills
Cultural awareness

by studying the following areas of experience -

Everyday activities - school and the classroom, home life, food, fitness and health
Personal and social life - self, family and personal relationships, fsocial activities, holidays
The world around us - home area, the environment, customs
The world of work - education and training, careers, language of the workplace
The international world - tourism, life in other countries, world issues.

Listening and speaking skills will be developed by use of multimedia materials, by direct spoken communication with tutors where possible, by internet communicated prompt/response exercises.

Courses may be commenced without previous knowledge or skills, in which case the maximum expected target will normally be GCSE grade C.
