Ullswater was a fun-filled week despite the odd downpour! We managed to go hiking, orienteering, kayaking, sailing, climbing and fitted in some archery.
The instructors forgot to warn us to wear gas masks before making us walk through the notorious 'cow pat alley' The field was supposed to smell of roses on a fresh summer's day - "wrong!" After a hard day of activities we still had enough energy to take part in quizzes before going back to our tents (or try and visit our friends in other tents).
We had late nights followed by the lovely, cheerful Miss Brett 'cracking her whip' trying to make eight stroppy teenage girls get out of their sleeping bags at the crack of dawn every morning. Her methods would put Hitler to shame! Mr Smith adopted similar methods to get the boys out of bed.
This was a wonderful experience. It certainly made us appreciate the creature comforts of home but I would recommend it to anyone who has a bit of get up and go!
