The New School Building

Our old school photograph 1998.

The old school building was built in 1932. It had eight classrooms in it and was a single storey building. The main building, including the hall, was built in 1951, but it was never finished. The playground had two air-raid shelters in it.

The building work starts.

The building of the new school was started in January 1998, with the demolishment of the dining hall and moving a mobile classroom.

Laying the foundations.

Once this was done, the foundations were laid and the new building was started.

Demolishing the old building.

During the school holidays the old building was demolished and a new, larger playgound was laid. The building work was finished in October 1998. The new school cost £1.5 million.

The school would like to recognise the support of Newham Councillors leading to the construction of the new school.
