Our Ethos
At Dersingham we aim to have a calm, caring atmosphere so that our pupils can be effectively taught.
We expect adults and pupils to treat one another with consideration, showing due respect towards one another. We also expect everyone to share responsibility for caring for our books, pencils, furniture, buildings and gardens.
At Dersingham our pupils are taught self-discipline and accepting responsibility for their own actions. We share a Code Of Conduct that everyone supports. Each class has a Step Chart and pupils are encouraged to behave correctly, with a sticker as a reward for a week of excellent behaviour.
In the playground, good behaviour is encouraged with the banning of certain toys. Pupils are not allowed to play with toy guns, swords, water pistols or any othertoy that leads to aggresive games and could be dangerous.
Pupils are encouraged to play co-operatively. We have two areas in the playgound, one for energetic games and one which is a quieter area.
