 Jock Young : is currently the Scottish Champion,a title he gained at his first attempt at Thurso East in October of last year. A seasoned paddler who is making his mark in the Screamer.

Neil Baxter : has been responsible for much of the development of the Screamer with Jock and his background in manufacturing and wide canoeing experience make him ideally placed to put theory into practice in developing a new surf kayak.

Ricky Scott : Age 32 is a member of Keith Canoe Club and has been steadily improving with every surf contest - notably winning a heat over World Champion Tim Thomas at Freshwater West this year. He has paddled in the Alps and is more than happy on the surf.

 Ian Bloomfield : An outdoor instructor from Dunfermline via Essex has been ripping at recent contests in Bamburgh and Freshwater West which he will tell you about if you've got an hour to spare!

KC MacKay : Age 34 is your man on the spot for up to date surf conditions in Thurso. Having competed in 3 previous World Championships and 4 Home Internationals KC can come up trumps - even after a big night !

 Greg McColm : Age 17 from Ayrshire is Scotland's top Junior and is a strong paddler on rivers and on the surf.

 Nick Cunningham : Is Greg's minder and has made sure that Greg turns out to surf even after a heavy training session the previous night. Nick is no slouch himself as a paddler.

Derek Lockhart : Age 31 is currently top ranked Scot , has been 2nd for the last 3 years in the Scottish champs. Derek came into the team in 1994 and has developed a long way since then on both kayak and ski. Has been known to bite your paddle and break boats if you drop in on him !

David O'Hare : Age 17 was Scottish junior Champion in 1995 and took part in last year's Home International,now paddling a Titan.

John Inglis : Age 41 is currently Team Manager and still determined to make that big section on Thurso East as often as possible. Has been pleased to see Scottish Surfing standards improve dramatically since his first Worlds in Thurso in 1991.

Ken Nicol : Age 36 is the one coordinating the competition so treat him well and make sure he doesn't leave for Hawaii before the contest is over with the money. Ken has paddled Thurso East,his home break for many years and is a regular in the Scottish Team. He is also heavily involved in coaching.

Cynthia Berry : Is one of Britain's top wild water paddlers and has now extended her repertoire to include surf.

 Tracey Stewart : Is a canoe coach and works at Glasgow North College, is aregular surfer on the West Coast bringing many student into the sport.
