Here are some of our colour-inspired poems.
What is Red?
Red are the borders of some pictures.
It's the pencil case in the middle of the desk,
the chair tucked under the table
and the cover of our pupil organiser.
Red is the colour of poppies to remind us of the soldiers who were killed in war.
Red is the traffic light telling us it is not safe to cross the road.
Red is the colour of the odd numbers on the hundred square.
By Daniel.
What is Green?
Green is the grass on a Summer's day.
The leaves opening in the Spring.
It's a crocodile in the bumpy river with mud on it.
My classroom walls, bright on a sunny day.
Green is the Cuthbert house colour,
Jumpers and ties for the school uniform,
Stems of plants and the cactus in the corner of the room.
What is Black?
Black is the sky when the sun goes down.
Black is the colour of a finger when it is hurt.
It is how you feel when you are miserable.
Black is the colour of the liquid when you make tea.
Black are bird's feathers.
What is Blue?
Blue is the sky on a bright Summer's day.
Blue is the sea where fish and sharks play.
Blue is Anthony's pencil pot.
Some pencils are blue, some are not.
Blue are the walls and a house point chart.
It's the colour of paint we use in art.
