Year 5/6 looked at Macbeth by William Shakespeare.
We looked at the layout of the Three Witches Scene.
Here is an extract:
"1st Witch: Thrice the brinded cat hath mew'd
2nd Witch: Thrice, and once the hedge-pig whin'd.
3rd Witch: Harpier cries, "'Tis time, 'tis time."
1st Witch: Round about the cauldron go:
In the poisoned entrails throw;
Toad, that under cold stone
Days and nights has thirty one......"
The ingredients of the spell were gruesome and repulsive, so we decided to write recipes (rather than spells) for lots of different things.

Beamish Museum
As part of our study about Victorian life, we visited Beamish Museum in North East England. We had a lovely time finding out about life at the turn of last century. Click on the Victorian locket to read some of our memories of the day out.
