Our Pheasants
|

|
 |
| In the middle of the junior department we keep three
golden pheasants, one male and two female. They are looked after by the year 6 children in
term time, and our caretaker, Mr Cooke during the holidays. Quite a lot of eggs are
hatched in April and May, and some have been sent abroad to other breeding projects.
Golden pheasants are quite rare in the wild, so we are pleased to help these endangered
birds. |
|
Newspaper Day
|
| Every year, the children in Year 6 take part in Newspaper Day, a
competition run by the Times Educational Supplement, in which schools from all
over the World create their own newspaper in one day. We have gained distinctions in this
competition in 1996, 1997 and 1998. A
Report on Newspaper Day can be readon the draft MAPE website
