"Two children who are to have their work included in The Samaritans Poetry Book are Aladdin Rowell and Kate Chisholm, both nine, of Eastfield Lower School.
Aladdin, who won first prize for his poem, said: "Sometimes it's hard to tell someone if you are bullied at school or your parents have a row and that's what this poem is about."
Kate's poem, which won a second prize sums up what a brilliant job the Samaritans do and she believes that being a good listener is really important.
She said: "One thing that is specially important is for parents to listen to their children."
The book will be published later this summer to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Northampton Samaritans."
