Las Cañadas eco-village in Huatusco, Veracruz, Mexico.

This ecovillage on 756 acres includes a dairy, cheese factory, reforestation areas, a cloud forest, eco-tourism centre, elementary school, bio-intensive gardens and wonderful views of local mountains including a snow-topped volcano.

Lodging is available in dormitory style rooms. There is no electricity in the rooms. There are solar heated showers, composting toilets, delicious meals and pure mountain spring water. Food is vegetarian, and most of it is grown on site.

Las Cañadas is located about 30 minutes from the city of Huatusco by foot. Here you can find nice restaurants, lovely parks and shops of all kinds.
