


EXCEL for SIMS users
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The EXCEL for SIMS users course is a half day session covering aspects of the use of EXCEL in the manipulation and interpretation of SIMS data.
The session will, to some extent, be tailored to meet the requirements of the participants but will
include the use of formatting tools and the chart wizard.
Please feel free to call with your own requirements before attending the session.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This course is aimed at all grades of school staff wishing to use EXCEL to interpret SIMS data and those wishing to use SIMS data to populate spreadsheets for other uses.
WHAT WILL YOU GAIN
Following successful completion of this session, you will be able to use EXCEL to sort and filter data, to format spreadsheets to your requirements and to produce graphical displays of simple
information.
PREREQUISITES
In order to obtain best value from the course, delegates are requested to bring with them a text file containing pupil information drawn from their schools SIMS system. This file is to be produced from Rep-Gen-Lite and should include Pupil Name, Gender, Date of Birth, Registration Group and home post-code for all those currently attending your school.
