SEAMUS KELLY
Senior Information Systems Officer
After gaining an MSc in Ecology in 1983 I worked for a while at Wollaton Hall Museum in Nottingham and then moved to the Education Department of Nottinghamshire County Council providing a Computer Software Library Service to schools.
The library service encompassed a software loan scheme, software demonstrations, technical support, training courses etc using BBC Microcomputers, Apple MacIntosh, Acorn Archimedes, RM Nimbus and PC compatibles.
With the advent of LMS in schools I joined the CASA (Computer Aided Schools Administration) team as a Training Officer working with SIMS software on Networked IBM PCs.
Temporarily I took on the role of team leader before moving to Rochdale to take on a similar project using Unix systems with Uniplex and SMAC software. More recently we have moved onto DOS, Windows, Workgroups and Novel network systems running Microsoft Office and SIMS software.
