CODES OF BEHAVIOUR

Fraserburgh Academy's guiding principle is to help all of our pupils to develop their talents and skills.

This will allow them to live fuller lives and contribute more to a productive and diverse society.

CODES OF BEHAVIOUR
  • RESPONSIBILITY
Students should take responsibility for themselves and for others, and work co-operatively with other students and staff in order to achieve their maximum potential. It is expected that this philosophy underlies the behaviour of everyone at Fraserburgh Academy.
  • REGULAR ATTENDANCE AND TIMEKEEPING
If you are to progress and reach your full potential it is vital that you regularly attend school and are punctual in the morning and for all your classes.
  • CLASS ABSENCE
    • Students are expected to attend all classes on time.
    • The only acceptable reasons for absence and lateness are such things as:
    i, personal illness
    ii. family emergency
    ill. dental and medical appointments
iv. approved activity e.g. sports and school excursions
    • Students must provide a dated note signed by a parent/guardian to explain absence on return to school.
    • School sports and excursions are encouraged but students are responsible for catching up on all work missed.
    • An accumulation of unexplained absences will result in the School Welfare Officer being involved andlor a referral to the Senior Education Officer.
  • LATENESS
    • Students who are late must sign in at the office and receive a late slip.
    • Poor attendance and timekeeping may result in the withdrawal of certain privileges such as attendances at social events.
  • CLASSROOM CODE OF BEHAVIOUR
    • Pupils will arrive in good time for classes, equipped for the lesson.
    • Enter and leave classes in an orderly fashion.
    • Listen carefully to, and then carry out, instructions.
    • Work without disrupting others.
    • Ask for help politely, raising their hand to attract the teacher's attention.
    • When required, move around the room in an orderly and safe fashion.
    • Tidy away materials and equipment responsibly.
    • Treat people and property with respect.
