BEHAVIOUR and DISCIPLINE.
At Greenfields School we have an expectation that the majority of our pupils will behave to the best of their ability. We encourage them to give consideration to the needs, feelings and rights of others within our community.
Rules are kept to the minimum and are intended to aid the smooth running of the school and maintain the safety of those within the building. Pupils are discouraged from running in corridors; the taking of or using of something belonging to another person without their permission is not acceptable as is fighting. The responsible member of staff present deals with minor misbehaviour at that time. More serious matters are referred to the Head teacher.
Very young pupils learn from staff what is acceptable behaviour and what is not acceptable through consistent management strategies. Older pupils are encouraged to reflect upon the affect their misbehaviour has on others. In extreme cases misbehaviour may result in loss of privilege or break time.
At our weekly whole school assemblies each class identifies a 'Star of the Week'. The pupil identified receives a certificate that is displayed centrally. A merit mark is recorded on the School Merit record and at the end of the Summer Term, during our Record of Achievement Awards special certificates are presented to pupils attaining the most merit awards in any class.
