The Friends organise lots of events during the year. The money raised is used in various ways to enhance the educational opportunities for your children. In recent years the Friends have bought picnic benches, non-fiction books for the library, CD/Tape players for each classroom, listening centres, digital camera, video camera…the list is endless. This year the Friends have already agreed to buy four benches for the playground, to fund visits by two visiting companies (e.g. a theatre group), and to top up the bark on the adventure playground.
The work of the Friends in fundraising will be even more important this year in view of the funding crisis facing schools. You will have read in the press about the problems faced by schools up and down the country. This has affected our school too. This means that the fundraising efforts by the Friends will play an even more important role.
