The colours change with the season of the Church year. The purple Stole is worn during Lent and Advent. The white Stole is worn at Christmas, Easter and at Ascensiontide. The red Stole is worn on Pentecost and on some Saints days and for most of the Sundays after Pentecost the green stole is used.
The
alb reminds us of Baptism.
