The lessons we are doing in the Year 2000 by Javed Hussain

The lessons we are doing  this term are Victorians for history> I have learned a lot about Victorians eg. Victorian children and how they lived. They had lots of wars and used knives called 'Bowie' knives  and used lots of rifles and pistols. I have also learned a lot about Victorian chimney sweepers because they got killed and many had very bad injuries. If they didn't work fast enough, fires were lit under them.

We have also been doing Science and we have been working on how to separate things from things eg. popcorn and water.

This is how you do it;    1. Get  a sieve

                            2. Put a spare bowl under it

                            3. Tip the mixture into the sieve

                            4. The water will go through, but the popcorn will stay in

                                the sieve.

We also had to solve problems like if popcorn, chickpeas, salt and poppy seeds were all mixed together, how do you separate them? We used different sized sieve funnels with filter paper.

This is what we have been doing this year in Mrs Turner's class. One more thing, Mrs Turner is addicted to Science and is MAD SCIENTIST.
