Wind direction
The wind direction means what direction the wind is blowing. If the wind is blowing the direction would be North, East, South or West. If the wind direction is not one of those it would either be North-East, North-West, South-East or South-West.
Sometimes the wind direction is measured by something called a Wind Vane.
The arrow of the wind vane is always pointing to the direction from which the wind is blowing. But how can you possibly read the wind direction from an arrow? The answer is simple, the wind Vane has got 4 poles which stick out and have: N, S, E and W. That stands for: North, East, South and West. But what if the arrow is pointing in between two of the letters? I will tell you: If the arrow of the wind vane is pointing in between South and West, the direction would be: South-West. Or if the arrow of the Wind Vane was pointing in between: North and West it would be North-West and so on.
