This unit builds on Unit 2, Using information technology (Advanced). It develops concepts similar to those introduced in Unit 7, Producing graphics and desktop published documents (Intermediate), although students need not have taken Intermediate GNVQ prior to taking this unit.

The purpose of this unit is to cover fully the rapidly growing area of multimedia technology.

Students will learn about a selection of multimedia hardware and software including CD-ROM systems, as well as the use of software including graphical libraries and on-line services.
