General Information

By the Year 2002 it is predicted that women will make up 45% of Internet users

Parents are reacting more and more to their child's requirements for the World Wide Web

The Government is committed to giving every school-child
access to the Internet

There are estimated currently to be 33 million 'netizens' and this is expected to increase nearly 10 fold to 320 million by the Year 2002

Although Europe is behind the US, over 73 million 'netizens' live this side of the Alantic

In 1998, the UK was 2 years behind America, but this has
already changed to only one year.

Students studying Information Studies in Years 10 and 11, will have the opportunity  to attend 'Get Switched On' at Olympia in London this year.  This is an event which is
designed to help students find their way around the Internet and re-inforce the practical and theoretical understanding which they have gained in the classroom.
