We have just started our own amateur radio station which has the callsign MX1BIO. We can talk to other radio amateurs, and send and receive messages via packet (data transmission by computer and radio) to other similarly equipped stations. Our science and technology teacher has his own amateur radio station, and he teaches us all about radio in our club at lunchtime. Our school is a member of STELAR (Science and Technology Education through Links with Amateur Radio).
Anyone wishing to contact us via Packet radio from anywhere in the world can do so at
We have been on the Internet for about 18 months; we use it to monitor the weather satellites and for investigations to do with our topic work. We also sometimes use E-Mail. Our E-mail address is hgrosch@mail.rmplc.co.uk We would be very pleased to communicate with similar aged pupils anywhere in the country or from around the world, either via the Internet or on radio.
