Year 7 Science Museum Trip 1998
We liked the Launch Pad because we were able to touch the scientific models and it had the answers to most of our questions.
When we went to the Science Museum we entered somewhere called Space. It was full of rockets and satellites, it was very interesting. We learnt a lot of things in there like what astronauts ate ,even where they went to the toilet! The only thing wrong with Space was that we was not allowed to touch anything and thats where Launch Pad comes in.
Launch Pad was a huge discovery room , it was full of things to play with , but my favourite part in it was when a huge bubble was dragged around me and then it popped and sprayed lots of mixture over me.
On Thursday the 21st of May we went to the Science Museum in London. It was a fun trip.we went to a place called Launch Pad. Inside you were aloud to touch the equipment inside the room. There was a place called the shadow box. This was like having a picture of your shadow taken.
We went in a room filled with information on space. In the shop there were lots of nice things but they were very expensive. In Materials we found out how some things have changed the world.
When we arrived at the Science Museum We went to space area first. It was really cool with all these space ships and astronauts and all this food that they ate and how they went to the toilet.
Next the Launch pad, a hands on interactive area in other words we could play with the exhibits.
Inside was lots of places where you could test and do some experiments.
There was the shadow box where you stood against a screen and pushed a button
and your shadow was left on the screen after a bright flash for you to look at.
My trip to the science museum was really cool.
There are loads of things to do.
My favourite part of the science was "THE LAUNCH PAD".
You can touch everything, also there is loads of stuff that you can try out.
The "space part "is really good, they have even got "APOLLO 10"there.
When you look inside the spacecraft, you can see that it is really cramped inside.
Doing all of that is a lot of fun,but it can also wear you out.
I was glad when it was time for lunch. When lunch was over,we went to "FLIGHT LAB".
The explainer did a demonstration.
The best part about the science museum was the Launch Pad because it was hands on. Emma liked the slow bubbles exhibit because it was cool and Jennifer liked the shadow box.
On Thursday 21st we went to the Science Museum and we are going to tell you all that went on.
We will start with the Launch Pad, the place where you can take part in all that goes on.
The "Shadow Box" was good because you could make fun pictures with your friends.
When we were building the "Arch Bridge" it was okay but when we walked over it, it broke.
The Kaleidoscope was funny because even if there were two of you there were millions more of you
than the number of people in the box.
The gift shop was very expensive but had nice things in it such as glow in the dark items, mugs, stationery.
At the Science Museum we most enjoyed going into the Launch Pad section.
In the Launch Pad there was lots of exciting things to do.Including making an Arch Bridge , taking a picture of your shadow , walking across a suspension bridge and a turntable. Our favourite was the turntable , span you round in circles. You held onto the handles and pushed yourself round with your foot.
We enjoyed LAUNCH PAD the best, it was fun there was lots of things to do :
TIPTOE TESTER
LEANING TOWER
SHADOW BOX
ARCH BRIDGE
PLASMA BALL
LASER PATTERN
LIGHT PIPES
PLASTIC PIECES
ROLL UP A HILL?
BUBBLE SCREEN
TURN TABLE
SOUND DISH
