Dear web page browser,

As you may know, the school has recently undergone an OFSTED inspection.  We were very pleased with the professional and rigorous approach of the OFSTED team, led by Roland Absalom. Some of us even enjoyed the experience!

The report of that inspection has now been published. We are delighted that the report recognises our many strengths and that Hillcross is now officially 'a good school'. We are particularly pleased with some of the glowing language used in the report. In 'OFSTED speak' it is very unusual to find terms such as 'at the leading edge of development' and 'first class' as well as several 'excellents' and 'very goods'. We really feel that the report does us proud. As parents, you will be particularly delighted with the inspection findings about your children's very good behaviour and attitudes to learning.

Of course, there are some areas that we need to improve on and we have found it helpful to have the inspection team's perspective on these. You will find these outlined under the 3 'Key Issues for Action
'.

All parents receive the summary report. Please read it carefully and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.  A copy of the full report which contains much more detail about the various aspects of the school and a detailed report on each subject area is available from the school office. There is a small charge to cover our photocopying costs. Please return the slip below with £1 if you would like one of the full reports. Or click here
to access the full report from the Internet.

A very big thank you to all our parents who took part in the inspection, either by returning the questionnaire, by attending the special meeting, being interviewed whilst in school helping in class or being interviewed as either a governor or member of the PTA. The very good quality of support from our parents is featured in the report.

Yours sincerely,

Barbara Reseigh
