Graphic design systems

Students will investigate the components of computers, both hardware and software needed in a graphic design studio.
They will look at the range of computer equipment and most students will identify appropriate software for  business and leisure uses.
They will use the terms Input, Output, Processing and Data storage and most students will produce examples to illustrate their understanding.
They will select and evaluate items of hardware and software for a client given a simple list of the client's needs.
Students will produce one or more web pages for a travel company.
Most students will learn the vocabulary associated with computers systems including simple networks and use it appropriately in explanations.
Some students will extend their work to look at the Computer aided design and its role in manufacturing and design.

Assessment will be based on the display produced for a travel client and the planning involved to set it up
