This term is spent in production of the coursework for the Units on Computer systems and Presenting Information. By the end of December Students will have completed the second coursework portfolio based on the Retail business analysis . This requires students to understand and use the basic components of computer hardware and software to analyse the computer systems used in a business and compare them with those sued in school. They will also collect and analyse several documents produced by school for different purposes.
In January students will design a system to meet an identified need in a business. This will probably be a database.
By the end of March
Students will have completed all their coursework and had a provisional mark. They will be following an assigned task set by the exam board as the examination component of the task. This will require them to use spreadsheet and database software to solve a set of problems. Submission to the exam board is needed by April 30th.
