KS3

KEY STAGE 3 Offers a wide experience to all students and sets the foundations for success in  later work.

We follow the National Curriculum in ICT ( Click here to connect to the national curriculum site) and aim to build on the skills and confidence developed in Primary years.

Students in year 7 and 8 are set in ability groups. Movement is possible between groups at the end of term and depends on achievement, ability and work ethic.

Key Stage 3 students achieve amazing things

Our experience of the amazing things that key stage 3 students can achieve has led us to offer all students from Year 9 the opportunity to start gaining GCSE level qualifications as soon as they are ready.
Usually students take the ICAA double GCSE in Applied ICT at the end of year 11. Some can take this at the end of year 10 and progress to a wider or  more in depth course in year 11.

Fast track students can follow the EDEXCEL GNVQ 4 GCSE courses. Students' learning is supported by Thomas Telford school on line learning materials and the Varndean School CD ROM materials.
