KS4

KEY STAGE 4 is the beginning of a major commitment to GCSE level work for all students.
All students are set by ability. Some movement between sets is possible at the end of a term. The set allocated depends on a students ability in ICT, Maths and English, their behaviour and their work ethic.

Most students will concentrate on the core modules; Using ICT; ICT at work in Businesses; ICT in Society. They will gain a double GCSE in Applied ICT, worth 2 GCSEs with grades between GG and A*A*, or a certificate of attainment.

Some students will be working towards 4 GCSE levels at grades A* to C provided by the
full GNVQ course. This allows an element of choice and specialisation as well as a through grounding in all the skills and knowledge needed to carry ICT into advanced study or the world of work.
Opportunities exist for all students to follow this course by adding on after school and home study sessions.
See Mrs Lister for details.

A few students will follow a non examination course
leading to ECDL, the European driving Licence, skills valued  by employers in many areas of work.

ICT skills are a passport to the future success of all students.
