The School Curriculum

Pupils are involved in structured experiences of work in language, mathematics, science, information and communication technology, design technology, music, art, history, geography, religious education and physical education.

When planning the curriculum we are aiming for breadth, balance, relevance, differentiation and progression. We provide a range of experiences across the physical, aesthetic, creative, spiritual, ethical, human, political, social, mathematical, scientific, linguistic and technological areas which are all given appropriate amounts of time each term. The curriculum takes into account the real world experiences, needs and individual ability of the children providing challenge and ensuring progression.

The National Curriculum is followed as in all state schools. All children participate in programmes of study in eleven subjects with great emphasis placed on Literacy, Numeracy, Information and Communication Technology, Science and Religious Education.

Children have the opportunity to use computers in many areas of the curriculum.
