The picture of the Beech Tree at the entrance of the school is to remember the people who died in the Plague of 1300. A resident artist, Andrea King, designed and made the clay picture with the help of the school children. The border to the picture is formed by items collected from Beech Tree Avenue, where the Plague hit. The project was funded by the D.L.I.
