| Reception | Reading and numeracy when the child is ready. |
| Years 1 & 2 | Reading, spellings, other literacy work and numeracy work. One hour per week. |
| Years 3 & 4 | As above with other subjects. One and a half hours per week. |
| Years 5 & 6 | Regular weekly schedule with continued emphasis on literacy and numeracy but also ranging widely over the curriculum. 30 minutes per day. |
Booster classes are offered to Year 6 pupils to prepare them for the end of Key Stage 2 SATs tests.
