How? HyperAction (cultural technicians) works in collaboration with education providers in both the formal and voluntary education sectors.
We initiate and research projects for schools, community groups and with young people, which culminate in the creation of web sites published on the World Wide Web. As part of each project, we also establish e-mail links and facilitate a cross global exchange of ideas, skills, experiences and information.
Web sites can be designed to focus on any topic or express any idea and so we develop projects in partnership, thus ensuring that we meet the needs of our partners and reflect the ideas of our participants. We work together with our partners to help secure funding for each residency.
As part of each residency, we plan structured programmes of activities to produce material for publication. When working in schools , we make direct links with the National Curriculum where appropriate.
We work through multimedia technology, and are helping to develop skills in the application of IT. We use IT to produce the written and visual material for publication on the World Wide Web.
When working with the community, we encourage people from different generations to work together.
We work with staff during each project to help them develop their understanding of the workings and potential of the Internet. We also offer a programme of in service training separate to our project work, thus ensuring the sustainability of the projects we set up.
