A unique eco and historical tour of Queen Charlotte Sound with experienced guides in fast, comfortable "Dolphin Endeavour". Visit Ship Cove of Captain Cook fame. Land on Motuara Island Bird Sanctuary for close encounters in a predator-free environment with South Island Bush Robins, bellbirds, pigeons and perhaps the rare South Island Saddleback. Climb through the bush to a fabulous view of the outer Sound and across Cook Strait to the North Island.
On the water see penguins, a wide variety of seabirds and, in season, the nesting sites of Spotted and Pied Shags, gulls and oystercatchers. There is always the chance of encountering the playful dolhins as at various times Bottlenose, Dusky and Hector's Dolphin's visit the Sound. Seals are winter residents and Orca are occasional visitors.

Queen Charlotte Sound is home to two of New Zealand's rare birds - the South Island Saddleback and the King Shag. This fully guided tour takes you to the King Shag roosting site on White Rocks and to Motuara Island. This predator-free island has a dense population of South Island Robins and bellbirds along with pigeons, penguins and a small population of Saddlebacks.
On the water there is a wide variety of seabirds including, in winter some from the Southern Ocean. In spring/summer there are nesting Spotted and Pied Shags, gulls oystercatchers and Little Blue Penguins.
