Spix's Macaw Cyanopsitta spixii - Brazil Distribution: Northen Bahia. Habitat: caraiba forest. Numbers: 0 in the wild, 30 in captivity, <35. Threats: limited habitat and illegal cage bird trade. Status: critical.

 Forbes's Blackbird Curaeus forbesi - Brazil Distribution: Small areas of Minas Gerais and Alagoas in eastern Brazil. Habitat: tropical forest and surrounding farmland. Numbers: <500. Threats: habitat destruction, brood parasitism and illegal cage bird trade. Status: Critical.
