Black Harrier Circus maurus - South Africa Distribution: Cape Province and Natal. Habitat: coastal wetlands. Numbers: <10000. Threats: habitat loss - population is declining. Status: near-threatened.

African Black Oystercatcher Haematopus moquini - Southern Africa Distribution: Coastal Southern Africa from Gabon to South Africa. Habitat: coastal wetlands. Numbers: <10000. Threats: uncertain although population is declining. Status: near-threatened.
